How does a ducted air conditioning system work?
When you install a ducted air conditioning system, you can provide a cool and comfortable environment all throughout your home.
The main system unit is normally installed on the ceiling space together with ducts that would be responsible for the distribution of air via grilles placed in strategic locations. The compressor or outdoor system unit is installed outside your home.
Types of systems
Currently, there are two types of systems that can be provided – “Inverter” or “Fixed speed” (sometimes called “non inverter”).
The Inverter system is more technically advanced, with features such as an inverter compressor which works like the accelerator of a car, gently increasing or decreasing power. It reaches the desired temperature quicker and steadily maintains it without wild fluctuations. That means uninterrupted comfort and significant energy savings.
How to determine the size of your ducted air conditioning system
Size determination is normally calculated by working out the cooling load for the largest space that needs cooling during the hottest time of a day.
Most families will not be occupying all rooms of the home at one time, so this enables us to “zone” the system to allow area’s to be turned off if they are not needed. Zoning helps us reduce the size of the air conditioner needed, as well as save power
